Governance and Board

Governance and BEE

CHOC is governed by a Board and an Executive Committee, to whom the Chief Executive Officer reports. Our diverse Board is made up of parents (of children who have or have had cancer), medical doctors, business leaders and others who bring a wide range of relevant skills to the Board. In addition we have advisory regional committees who provide guidance and assistance to our offices and regions around the country.

Our reporting on expenditure is detailed, accurate and transparent, and we provide clean audited financial statements on an annual basis. Additionally, we strive to keep administration costs to a minimum (typically our administration to programme ratio is only 20:80%). CHOC complies with South African labour laws and employment equity requirements. The organisation has a documented Employment Equity Plan and targets, which are reported on annually. CHOC has a proven ability to deliver sustainable solutions effectively and is an established brand endorsed by specialists. Click here to view our latest annual review. The multicultural Board and committee members – the majority of whom are parents of children that had cancer - serve in a voluntary capacity to ensure  that CHOC prospers and that the interests of our beneficiaries are paramount. Below are the details of our Board members and Exco.
