SNOSSA First Thursday Education Series
One of the most difficult times for families post the cancer treatment is the integration of the patient with a brain tumours back into society. It is important that families and communities understand the new journey and to have resources available to assist the survivor to make the informed decisions about their future.
If we want to advocate for the brain tumour survivors, we need to understand the challenges they experience when the survivor needs to integrate back into society.
We need to know what kind of resources are needed to ensure that the patient adapt cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically in society.
Adri Ludick will be in conversation with:
- Kerrin Bain – Bereaved mother
- Prof Kathleen Thorpe – Mother of a long-term survivor
- Lawrence Mbuyane, CHOC Social Worker and Board Chair of the Hospital School at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital with a special interest in special needs education
